Within walking distance of the Utne Hotel there is the Handanger Folk Museum, dedicated to preserving the traditional culture of the Hardanger Fjord region. The museum consists of both an outside open air portion of traditional structures and traditional museum displays of local textiles, folk costumes, and musical instruments.
